Assistant Accountant (m/f/d)

Your tasks

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L reconciliations, month-end reporting and variance analyses
  • Support budget setting and forecasting cycles, gathering data and analysing variances against plan while considering the top down targets
  • Ensure transparency in cost centre structures, allocations, segmentation reporting and hourly rate calculations
  • Maintain and improve financial models to drive profitability insights and strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate with external auditors during interim and year-end audits; prepare schedules and respond to information requests
  • Implement and document robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with IFRS, and local regulations
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis for projects such as pricing reviews, cost reduction initiatives, and investment appraisals
  • Coordinate with IT and operational teams to streamline reporting systems and develop automated dashboards
  • Independent collation, validation and preparation of data following Brose standards of transparency

Your Profile

  • Part-qualified AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent; final-stage candidates are highly desirable
  • 2–4 years’ experience in management accounting or a similar finance function, ideally within an international environment
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, budgeting and forecasting methodologies, and month-end close processes
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP) and experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP, similar systems e.g. Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Excellent analytical ability with a proven track record of translating data into actionable insights
  • Clear communicator who can liaise confidently with local and overseas teams
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Business fluent in English; basic knowledge of German is a positive
