Design Engineer-PLG

Your tasks

  • Creates/develops/realizes designs in CAD 3D and 2D within the agreed time and good quality.
  • Applies design calculations inline with mechanical engineering principles.
  • To support Power lift gate design activities.
  • Creation of designs, assembly drawings, single part drawings, bill of materials for new and series production products in accordance with: Brose standards and procedures; customer specification and design standards; use of standard components; reuse of designs and parts; Brose production feasibilities and standards; external Know How (suppliers) and internal Know How.
  • Understands the technical aspects of the task by applying knowhow gained in mechanical engineering.
  • Able to do design calculations (static and dynamic loads, deformation, pressure, moments, stresses, etc.).
  • Execution of basic technical calculations with guidance (e.g. GD &T, Stack-up) and simulations (e.g. deformation, loading, kinematics). Initiation of more complex calculations together with specialists (e.g. FEA, Mold flow) and interpretation of results together with specialists.
  • Supports design being made available in accordance in a timely manner to support lead engineers with releases (V0, V1, V2 release, customer sample requests, test sample requests, etc.).
  • Supports in technical VA/VE’s and design optimizations.
  • Support benchmarking of products.
  • Considers all valid procedures. Job instructions and organizational instructions.

 

Your Profile

  • BE/BTech Or ME/MTech–Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2-3 Years.
  • Knowledge of CATIA V5 2D, 3D and Assembly.
  • DMU (optional and advantageous).
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Design calculations of static and dynamical loads, deformation, pressure, etc. – thorough understanding of engineering mechanics, materials, strength of materials, machine design and theory of machines and mechanisms.
  • Knowledge in sheet metal and plastic design will be an advantage.
  • Microsoft office tools.
  • Strong communication skills.
