Senior Design Engineer-Seat Structure_7-10 Yrs

Your tasks

  • Independently execute engineering assignment as a part of design/project team for various projects assigned, following & applying standard set by Brose & OEMs under the guidance of Project engineer.
  • Create feasible design concepts which are qualitative & cost effective in nature.
  • Represents all design activities during product development, which calls for close co-operation with PE, TE and development CFT’s. Interfaces and seeks agreement on design details, perhaps with customer/suppliers.
  • Anticipate the potential issues regarding assembly, tooling, design flaws, etc. & intimate PE.
  • Independent creation of designs in Catia CAD, Drawings (Assembly Component), BOM during development and in some cases at series production. Design concept should be in accordance with: Brose standards and procedures, product workshop assumptions, Lessons learnt/goals, Customer specification, use of standard components,Carry over designs and parts, Brose production feasibilities and standards, legal requirements, internal and external norms and standards, Internal & external Know How/Lessons learnt (Customer & Supplier).
  • Perform technical calculations (strength, weight, package), simulations (kinematics, FEM Catia GAS GPS) and apply it in design concept.
  • Independent calculation of functional dimensions and tolerances in accordance with the results of DV/PV test and simulation.
  • Arrange detail design review’s with Design lead, specialist, PE& TE during every project milestone.
  • Realization of principle investigations for product improvement, realization of innovations.
  • Active participation in development team Meetings (EAK), in formal design/engineering reviews (A- D Checklist, DFMEA, FEM meetings, specification review, etc.), and  informal reviews with Test Engineer and Team Engineer.
  • Ensures designs being made available in a timely manner to support releases (e.g. -100 release), co-ordinates/negotiates with valid reason’s on alternate design completion dates.
  • Expertise in Sheet metal & Plastic design.
  • Support Benchmarking of products, create lessons learnt & take active involvement in Problem solving.
  • Also assign the work & mentor the design Engineers & train him to considers all valid procedures, job instructions and organizational instructions.

 

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree (B. E or B. Tech.) in Mechanical engineering/Automotive engineering is preferred in the automotive field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Between 7 to 10 years professional experience in automobile related industries preferred in automotive seat mechanism after university graduation in engineering degree.
  • CAD design 3D and 2D CATIA V5.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Basic design calculations of static and dynamical loads, deformation, pressure, mechanism travel and effort calculation etc.
  • Knowledge in automotive seating system.
  • Knowledge in sheet metal, plastic design and manufacturing (DFM and DFA).
  • Microsoft office tools.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
