Senior Engineer-IT-System Monitoring and Operating

Your tasks
- The Senior Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining the health and performance of IT systems through proactive monitoring, incident resolution, and escalation handling. This position is hands-on and technical, focused on operational excellence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills, process adherence, and a collaborative approach to supporting IT infrastructure.
- This role requires participation in 24x7 operations. Candidates must be willing to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays, as part of a global support model.
- IT Service Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor IT systems and services using enterprise tools such as SCOM, CheckMK, Streamworks, Splunk, and SUSE Manager. Act as the first point of contact for server, network, and application-related incidents.Perform fault correction and increase first-level resolution rates by identifying and engaging the appropriate escalation partners.
- Operational Support & System Maintenance: Troubleshoot and execute approved operational tasks across Linux and Windows operating systems, as well as databases like Oracle and MSSQL. Manage and maintain reports related to the Brose Group backup environment, including restore tests and audit support.
- Escalation Handling & Documentation: Serve as a single point of contact for Local IT, handling issues such as service restarts, server reboots, and password resets based on documented procedures. Ensure timely and accurate escalation of incidents, adapting to evolving IT processes and escalation protocols.Maintain and update technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- ITIL Process Adherence: Demonstrate a solid understanding of CMDB and IT Service Management principles.
- Scripting & Automation: Basic knowledge of scripting languages such Power Automate is a plus, especially for automation and monitoring enhancements.
Your Profile
- 5–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure monitoring and operations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux/Windows environments and database systems.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and SIEM Tools.
- Exposure to scripting and automation tools is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of ITIL framework and CMDB processes.
- Windows OS, VMware (ESXi, Vcenter client) and Linux (SLES) Networking Basics, ITIL Processes L3 technical Support in IT companies, 24x7 Rotating shifts, Ready to learn new technology.
